Suffolk Masonry services (SMS) is a family run business specialising in all types of masonry work, ecclesiastical restoration, monumental masonry and associated trades.

This ranges from manufacture to installation of natural stone, marble, granite, reconstructed stone, stucco repairs, flint work, glazing and brickwork, memorials, and general church restoration.

SMS was established in 1998 by its proprietor Paul Templeton and is run in conjunction with his son Raymond.

Paul has a wealth of experience in the masonry trade dating back to 1964 when he left school and started his apprenticeship with Saunders a local masonry company in Ipswich

He has carved out a successful career in the trade, and was director of a well-known Suffolk-based stone masonry company, before setting up Suffolk Masonry Services.

The SMS workshop is based in the grand surroundings of Shrubland Hall Estate, near Ipswich, and each year the company carries out around two months restoration and conservation work on the Estate

The company’s excellent reputation has enabled it to build up a healthy client list of architects, contractors, local authorities and private customers which culminated in winning an award of distinction from the Ipswich Society for work at the Unitarian meeting house.
